My friend, Noah Greenhill said, "Bill, I know that you have made a lot of good photos, but this is your best." It really stemmed from the paper choice (Agfa - Portriga) which rendered the photo brown-toned, but rendered Bob (on the right) with a very black hat and vest. Or perhaps because, Noah felt so at home with this place? (smile)

  • A long story here, relating to the Art Director of a play (Jaye), who was requested to hang a portrait of the leading lady (Jaye) on the stage for the second half of the play. The request was made at dress rehearsal, 24 hours before the opening. Slight terror as she points out, "Not only had I never done a self-portrait, I had never even done a portrait!" Alas, sometime after midnight, she stripped the mat and mount from my B&W print, glued it to some canvas, ink'ed it, oil'ed it, and acrylic'ed it - all within a couple of hours... and it hung on the stage the next night. The original is the next image.

  • Dress & Door
A Key lesson here. These dresses were found as seen here. After I made the print, ...."DUH", Dresses don't really have to be "found", they can be "Brought"! This started my collection of old dresses.
